It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Southern Lee ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Union Pines Vikings, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cavaliers have posted since March 14th.

Ben Harrington made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Blanks, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Southern Lee's record now sits at 11-5. As for Union Pines, they moved to 6-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Southern Lee will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
