Basketball Recap: Langtree Charter Academy Beats Highland Tech for Their Third Straight Victory

Langtree Charter Academy had won two straight games and Jerel Brawley did his part to make it three on Wednesday. The Langtree Charter Academy Lions narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Highland Tech Rams 67-65 thanks in part to Brawley, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 25 points along with six assists and four steals. Brawley is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Arbrey Hoyle, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2023.

Despite the loss, Highland Tech still got an impressive performance from Elijah Sherrill, who went 10 of 16 on his way to 42 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Another player making a difference was Cooper McCraw, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds.

Langtree Charter Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Highland Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Langtree Charter Academy will challenge Bradford Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Langtree Charter Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.8 points per game this season. As for Highland Tech, they will welcome Burns at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
