Football Recap: Jackson Comes Up Short

After soaring to 49 points the game before, Jackson was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were dealt a 49-10 loss at the hands of the Ironton Fighting Tigers. The Ironman/Ironladies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-3.

Tyler Carmon was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Ironton, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Jackson and Ironton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Ironman/Ironladies (ranked 100th) will meet Hillsboro (ranked 310th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Ironton will square off against Wheelersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (19 vs. 67). The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Fighting Tigers 8.2, the Pirates 5.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
