In other batting news, Randy Parker was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Connor Lambert also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Covenant School of Jacksonville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .519 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, University Christian was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They fell just short of Baldwin by a score of 3-2.
University Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Worbington, who scored a run while going 4-for-4. What's more, Worbington posted four hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Corey Wimberly was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Covenant School of Jacksonville's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs over those games. As for University Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Covenant School of Jacksonville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 9 stolen bases per game.
