Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Schuylkill Haven

Schuylkill Haven entered their tilt with Shenandoah Valley on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 18-1 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Hurricanes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Emmie Scherer was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, eight RBI, and two runs. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Teagan Wehr, who scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Schuylkill Haven always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shenandoah Valley only posted an OBP of .250.

Schuylkill Haven's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Shenandoah Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
