            Basketball Preview: Polson Pirates vs. Hamilton Broncs        
        
		
        
        
            Polson hasn't had much luck against Hamilton recently, but that could start to change  on Saturday. After both having extra time off,  both  will shake off the cobwebs and  challenge  one another  at 4:00  p.m. Given that  the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  matchup.
Polson is headed into Saturday's   game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game  last Saturday. They were three  points away from ending the streak, but they lost a  51-48 heartbreaker at the hands of Sidney. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by  exactly three  points.

 Despite their  defeat, Polson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Hinkley Moss, who  posted seven points along with eight  rebounds and four  steals, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance also gave  Moss a new career-high in  assists (three).  Aleysia Black was another key player,  putting up 11 points.
 Meanwhile, Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch  last Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight  loss  dating back to last season. They were dealt  a  69-29 defeat at the hands of Lockwood. While losing is never fun, the Broncs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings  (they are ranked 48th, while the LIONS are ranked eighth).
 Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Polson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
 Polson couldn't quite finish off Hamilton in their previous meeting  back in January of 2024 and fell  52-50. Can Polson avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
