Sweetwater put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their undefeated season alive. Everything went their way against the Montgomery Aztecs as Sweetwater made off with an 8-1 victory. Considering the Red Devils have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Tatyana Mosqueda made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Sweetwater let Emily Romero and Ariana Tovar run wild. Romero scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Tovar scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs Tovar has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Sena, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Sweetwater's record now sits at 9-0-1. As for Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Sweetwater will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hilltop at 3:30 p.m. on April 9. As for Montgomery, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mar Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Montgomery's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Mar Vista has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
