Softball Game Preview: Frankston Indians vs. Harleton Wildcats

The Frankston Indians will square off against the Harleton Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frankston's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Harleton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Harleton will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Frankston extended their winning streak to three on Monday. Everything went the Indians' way against Mildred as they made off with a 19-6 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.

Elysian Fields hit Harleton with a five-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 13-6 to the Yellowjackets.

Harleton got a good showing from Landree Lowry, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits Lowry has allowed since back in March.

At the plate, Katelyn Watson and Annabelle Bunger stepped up to the plate in a big way. Watson got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, while Bunger earned two RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Bunger is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Harleton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-22-1 record this season. As for Frankston, their victory bumped their record up to 28-4-1.

Everything went Frankston's way against Harleton in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Frankston made off with a 12-5 win. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
