Football Recap: Frederica Academy Continues Home Dominance on Friday + How To Watch

Frederica Academy had won three straight home games and Stanton Beverly did his part to make it four on Friday. Frederica Academy took down the Pinewood Christian Patriots 28-14 for which the team can thank Beverly, who rushed for 108 yards, and also threw for 87 yards and a pair of TDs. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making nine total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Despite the defeat, Pinewood Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sam Wasson rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Wasson is becoming a predictor of the Patriots' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 4-2 (and 0-3 when he doesn't).

Frederica Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Pinewood Christian, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Frederica Academy will challenge rival St. Andrew's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pinewood Christian is set to take on their familiar foe Bulloch Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Wasson and Danye Garvin.
