Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain View Bruins vs. Payson Lions

Mountain View is a perfect 4-0 against Payson since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bruins will be playing at home against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. Mountain View is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Mountain View didn't have quite enough to beat Provo and fell 3-2. While the Bruins didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-14 in the first set.

Mountain View actually scored more points across those five sets (102-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Payson didn't have quite enough to beat Timpanogos on Monday and fell 3-2. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Timberwolves recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Payson took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-17, 17-15.

Payson's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Mountain View took their victory against Payson in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
