Basketball Game Preview: Patel Trailblazers vs. Riverview Academy of Math and Science Barracudas

Having just played yesterday, the Patel Trailblazers will get right back to it and host the Riverview Academy of Math and Science Barracudas at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Patel took a blow against Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate, falling 72-44. The Trailblazers haven't had much luck with the Phoenix recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Riverview Academy of Math and Science sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-48 win over Universal Academy on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Barracudas.

Riverview Academy of Math and Science's win came from a few key players Patel will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tayshaun Johnson, who posted 11 points along with eight steals and seven boards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (six). Aaron Riley was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Riverview Academy of Math and Science smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matches.

Riverview Academy of Math and Science pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Patel, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.
