Volleyball Recap: Dixie Heights Falls to Lafayette in First Game of Season

Dixie Heights kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 2-0 to the Lafayette Generals. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Payton Watts was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had five digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high.

The victory (which was Lafayette's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Dixie Heights will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Simon Kenton at 5:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Lafayette, they have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Bourbon County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
