CHESAPEAKE, Va. - The defense contributed on the scoring end for
Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, Va.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Tigers upset Forest Park (Woodbridge, Va.) 40-7.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, the Tigers led 27-0 at the half.
Oscar Smith grew its lead to 39 points entering the fourth quarter. OS scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.
A 27-point first quarter helped the Chesapeake school secure the big victory. The Tigers scored on a passing touchdown, a touchdown run, a defensive touchdown and a defensive touchdown in the quarter.
Forest Park's lone touchdown came on a pass in the fourth quarter.
The Bruins came in surrendering 10.5 points per game this season. Led by
Andrew Brown, Oscar Smith went into the matchup giving up only 5.1 points per game.
The loss comes after Forest Park defeated Varina 27-18 last week. The loss snapped Forest Park's three-game winning streak.
