Recap: Sturgeon Bulldogs vs. Pilot Grove Tigers
While it was all tied up 32-32 at halftime, the Sturgeon Bulldogs were not quite the Pilot Grove Tigers's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Sturgeon took a 72-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pilot Grove. Sturgeon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pilot Grove apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Sturgeon still got an impressive performance from Isaac Bolles, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 2 assists. The matchup was Bolles' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ethan Benskin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Sturgeon and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Pilot Grove, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sturgeon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Community at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for Pilot Grove, they will challenge Glasgow at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
