Basketball Recap: Four Corners Comes Up Short

If Four Corners was feeling good fresh off their 68-44 takedown of Ridgeview Global Studies Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Four Corners Coyotes fell 69-62 to New Dimensions on Friday. The Coyotes have struggled against New Dimensions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Four Corners lost, don't look at Keshav Harpal. Despite the final result, he posted 33 points. That was a full 53.2% of Four Corners' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Minor, who had seven points.

It was another big night for Yael Estevez, who put up 27 points in addition to seven boards and three steals for New Dimensions. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Rios, who posted 15 points.

Four Corners' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for New Dimensions, they moved to 1-4 with that victory, which also ended their eight-game losing streak.

Four Corners will venture away from home to square off against Hope Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hope Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Four Corners surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Dimensions, they will host International Community at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. New Dimensions is facing International Community at the right time seeing as International Community is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
