Basketball Recap: Georgetown Bulldogs vs. Hanahan Hawks

Georgetown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 42-27 to the Hanahan Hawks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-33 back in December of 2024.

Leading Hanahan to victory were Camdyn Lawson and Bri Johnsen. Lawson posted ten points and five steals, while Johnsen earned nine points and seven steals. Johnsen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 29 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kaleigh Taylor, who had five points.

Georgetown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Hanahan, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Georgetown will welcome Waccamaw at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hanahan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th.
