Basketball Recap: Carl Hayden Community Piles Up the Points Against Fairfax

Carl Hayden Community waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Fairfax Stampede 81-42. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 30 points or more this season.

Carl Hayden Community got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mouhamed Khoule out in front who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Khoule now owns an excellent 45.6% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Lindsay Jr., who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten assists.

Fairfax's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Holdbrook, who posted 12 points and eight boards. Holdbrook is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played. Andrew Evans was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Carl Hayden Community pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.1 points over those games. As for Fairfax, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.
