Recap: Peetz Bulldogs vs. Branson/Kim Bearcats

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Peetz Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of Branson/Kim by a score of 39-37. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Peetz's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Chance Segelke, who threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. Conner Schumacher also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.

Branson/Kim's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kolter Cranson, who rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 86 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Cranson's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Brock Doherty, who gained 263 total yards and two touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Peetz and nudges their season record down to 7-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Otis (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 85% over those games). As for Branson/Kim, their win was their sixth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Peetz does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Branson/Kim will head out on the road to face off against Otis at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Otis is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
