Soccer Game Preview: Calvert vs. McDonough

The Calvert Cavaliers will challenge the McDonough Rams on Tuesday. Calvert will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Calvert is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They won by a goal and slipped past La Plata 3-2. Three seems to be a good number for Calvert as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Huntingtown kept up with McDonough until halftime on Friday, but afterwards: not so much. The Rams put the hurt on the Hurricanes with a sharp 3-0 victory. McDonough might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by three goals or more this season.

Siena Rothmann and Talyn Catena scored all three of McDonough's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

McDonough's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Calvert, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Everything went Calvert's way against McDonough when the teams last played on October 9th, as Calvert made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
