Lapeer lost to Powers Catholic on September 9th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Lightning blew past the Chargers 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lightning.

While Lapeer won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 25-23.

Lapeer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allison Rutledge, who had 16 assists and 11 digs. Rutledge is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nina Jostock, who had 16 digs and four assists.

Lapeer's victory bumped their record up to 4-11-1. As for Powers Catholic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Lapeer will be taking part in a tournament against Royal Oak at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Powers Catholic, they will square off against Lapeer East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
