Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Owensboro Catholic couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 33-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lexington Christian Eagles on Friday. The Aces' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Owensboro Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Maddox, who picked up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Dre'Mail Carothers was another key signal caller, throwing for 269 yards and three TDs.

Owensboro Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Lexington Christian, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3.
