Softball Recap: Monadnock Has No Trouble Against Trinity

Monadnock never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Trinity Pioneers as they made off with a 17-0 win. Considering the Huskies have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ari Drouin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Liv Knightly was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Paetyn Simonds, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Monadnock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.

Monadnock's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Trinity, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Monadnock will take on rival Newfound Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Trinity is set to face off against their familiar foe Gilford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
