Basketball Recap: Lincoln-Way Central Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Lincoln-Way Central's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 47-34 win over the Hinsdale South Hornets. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2019.

When it comes to explaining why Hinsdale South lost, don't look at Maeve Savage. Despite the final result, she went 7 for 15 on her way to 20 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Marit Haile, who posted two points and six rebounds.

Lincoln-Way Central's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 9-15. As for Hinsdale South, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.

Lincoln-Way Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln-Way West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hinsdale South, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 80-29 loss against Minooka on the 25th.
