Softball Recap: Lenoir City Comes Up Short

Lenoir City lost against Heritage back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Panthers took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountaineers. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sophie Reed was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Reagan Helton, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Lenoir City's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Lenoir City has already played their next game (against Sweetwater), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Heritage, they will challenge Farragut at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Admirals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Mountaineers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
