Recap: Bixby Spartans vs. Moore Lions
The Bixby Spartans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Moore, posting a 68-5 victory at home. Fans of Bixby have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Bixby was led to victory by Carson Kirby and Jett Turner. Kirby threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes, while Turner rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Turner was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cord Nolan, who picked up 111 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Bixby's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. As for Moore, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Bixby will head out on the road to face off against Jenks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jenks has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 155 points over their last four contests. As for Moore, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Broken Arrow at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Broken Arrow is ranked 43rd, while Moore is ranked 44th).
