It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Penn had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warsaw Tigers. The victory was nothing new for the Kingsmen as they're now sitting on five straight.
Penn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Montana Swartz led the charge by getting 20 assists. Swartz is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Lane, who had 12 digs and one assist.
Penn's win bumped their record up to 24-6. As for Warsaw, they moved to 29-5 with that defeat, which also ended their 11-match winning streak.
Coming up, after both having extra time off, Penn and Crown Point will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Warsaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
