            Basketball Recap: Platte Valley Broncos vs. Bennett Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Eaton, Platte Valley was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They snuck past the Bennett Tigers with  a  49-43 victory. While the Broncos didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Platte Valley found their leader in freshman  Bryla Bunting, who  dropped  a double-double on 21  points and 11  boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most  points  Bunting has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lauryn Uyemura, who  dropped  a double-double on ten  points and 11  steals.
 Platte Valley  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 13  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive boards in five consecutive  games.
 Bennett's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Jessica Venneberg, who  posted 17  points and seven  steals, and  Elizabeth Westendorf, who  earned nine points along with eight  rebounds and four  steals. Westendorf continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's  played.
Platte Valley has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record  this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Bennett, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record  this season.
 Platte Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  game,  a  61-47  win against Wellington on the 11th. As for Bennett, they will head out to  square off against Weld Central  on Tuesday.
