Baseball Recap: Oil City Comes Up Short

Oil City suffered their biggest loss since April 2nd on Monday. They came up short against the Hickory Hornets, falling 11-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in April.

Oil City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bart Rosen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Rosen's first of the season.

Oil City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Hickory, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-9 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oil City will face off against Slippery Rock at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hickory, they will take on Mohawk Area at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
