Baseball Recap: Handley Comes Up Short

Handley had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-9 to make it five. They came up short against the Brentsville District Tigers, falling 9-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on April 4th.

Handley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Braun-Duin, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Brentsville District, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games.

On Brentsville District's side, they got a big performance out of JJ Hand, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was David Moffett, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Handley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-2 win against Manassas Park on the 30th. As for Brentsville District, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 10-0 victory against Millbrook on the 1st.
