Basketball Recap: Ledyard Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lyman Memorial

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ledyard). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Lyman Memorial Bulldogs 77-40. The Colonels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Lyman Memorial had strong showings from Phoebe Carpenter, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds, and Jenny Lopez, who posted 11 points in addition to eight assists and five boards. That's the most points Carpenter has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayla Hawkins, who had two points and 12 boards.

Ledyard is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Lyman Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Ledyard has already played their next contest (against Fitch), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lyman Memorial, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 34-29 loss against St. Bernard on the 19th.
