Baseball Recap: Payette Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Payette unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Nampa Christian Trojans by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Pirates have suffered since March 28, 2024.

Payette saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Barrera, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Coming up, Payette will challenge Buhl at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nampa Christian, they will face off against Weiser at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
