Baseball Game Preview: McHenry Warriors vs. Bartlett Hawks

McHenry has won nine straight games at home, while Bartlett has won nine straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Warriors will welcome the Hawks at 11:00 a.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (McHenry 2.8, Bartlett 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

McHenry is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Huntley just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Red Raiders by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since May 9, 2025.

Meanwhile, Bartlett won against Elgin on Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Hawks beat Elmwood Park by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-1. Considering the Hawks have won 12 contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Vince Yario, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Colaizzi, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Bartlett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elmwood Park only posted an OBP of .250.

Bartlett's victory bumped their record up to 19-8. As for McHenry, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-4-1.
