Basketball Recap: Kenwood Drops Highest Score of Season Against Randallstown

Kenwood scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to the Randallstown Rams 90-85. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (67), the Bluebirds still had to take the loss.

Several Bluebirds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antoine Day-Barnes, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Those 27 points gave Day-Barnes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Otuyelu, who posted 21 points along with five steals and three blocks.

Kenwood has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. Randallstown's record now sits at 11-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenwood will host Western Tech & Environmental Science at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Kenwood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Randallstown, they will be playing at home against Overlea at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Overlea knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 22 matches -- so hopefully Randallstown likes a good challenge.
