Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Cardinals vs. Point Loma Pointers

Having just played yesterday, the Hoover Cardinals will get right back to it and host the Point Loma Pointers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Hoover is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Thursday. They strolled past Vincent Memorial with points to spare, taking the game 61-46.

Meanwhile, Point Loma had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 60-45 victory over Coronado.

Hoover better keep an eye on Jax Marple. He was instrumental in Point Loma's win, putting up 17 points along with eight boards and six assists. Those eight rebounds gave Marple a new career-high. Another player making a difference was William Conquest, who posted ten points and three steals.

Point Loma was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coronado only posted six.

Everything came up roses for Hoover against Point Loma when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the squad secured an 82-48 win. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pointers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
