Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Road Victories for Northeastern

Northeastern won the last time they faced Hertford County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Northeastern Eagles walked away with a 48-39 win over the Hertford County Bears.

Northeastern's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mia Jones, who posted 17 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Furges, who had 12 points.

Hertford County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklynn White, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 18 points and eight rebounds. That's the most rebounds White has posted since back in January of 2024. Karae' Alfred was another key player, putting up six points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks.

Northeastern's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Hertford County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
