Basketball Recap: Clifton Skates Past Millsap with Ease

Clifton's tournament run continued when they took on Millsap on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 72-45 stomp they got against the Millsap Bulldogs. Given the Cubs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Clifton to victory were Maddox Hinojosa and Diego Rodriguez. Hinojosa posted 17 points, while Rodriguez scored 12 points. Hinojosa is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Joaquin De La Hoya was another key player, putting up eight points.

Clifton's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Millsap, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Clifton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-52 loss against Rio Vista on the 28th. As for Millsap, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-41 defeat against Keene on the 28th.
