Basketball Recap: Elizabeth Woodfaulk Key Part of a Team Effort in Purple Cats Win

There's no place like home for Ariton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They snuck past the Long Rebels with a 40-36 victory on Saturday. Given the Purple Cats' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Rebels are ranked 354th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ariton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elizabeth Woodfaulk, who went 6 for 11 en route to 13 points and three steals. Nya Allen was another key player, putting up 12 points and six boards.

Ariton's record is now 13-4. As for Long, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-19.

Ariton has already played their next contest, a 51-48 win against Northside Methodist Academy on the 28th. As for Long, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 34-28 loss against Ariton on the 30th.
