Football Game Preview: Owosso Trojans vs. Brandon Blackhawks

Owosso is 0-8 against Brandon since September of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Trojans will take on the Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. Owosso has given up an average of 27 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Owosso is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 34 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Goodrich on Friday. They were beaten by the Martians 56-13. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Martians are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Brandon waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-56 W against the Mustangs. That's two games straight that the Blackhawks have won by just one point.

Owosso's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Brandon, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-2.

Owosso couldn't quite get it done against Brandon in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 54-47. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Blackhawks' Luke Hanson, who picked up 168 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 88 yards on only seven carries. Now that the Trojans know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
