Basketball Game Preview: Topsail Pirates vs. Pender Patriots + How To Watch

Topsail has gone a perfect 7-0 against Pender recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Topsail was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to Croatan.

Despite the loss, Topsail had strong showings from Sailor Heitmann, who posted five points along with six steals and five rebounds, and Charley Moore, who scored 11 points and seven boards. Heitmann is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Bell, who earned six points.

Pender kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a blow against East Bladen, falling 63-16. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-5.

Nevasha Bonds was Pender's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Topsail's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Pender, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
