Baseball Recap: Rock Canyon Triumphs

While Rock Canyon's victory against Legend wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jaguars skirted past the Titans 8-6. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.

Braxton Macias tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rock Canyon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Shank, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Rock Canyon's record is now 4-7. As for Legend, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rock Canyon will square off against Brighton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Legend, they will take on Highlands Ranch at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
