Softball Recap: Thorsby Sets Scoring Season-High Against Comer

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thorsby). They never let the Comer Tigers get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won seven in a row.

Brooklyn Reeser was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Thorsby got a massive performance out of Allie Reeser, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. The dominant performance gave Reeser a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Brinley Giambrone, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Thorsby kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Comer only managed two hits.

Thorsby's win bumped their record up to 6-1-1. As for Comer, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

After both having extra time off, Thorsby and Verbena will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 6:00 p.m. on April 1st. Comer will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Vincent at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st.
