Softball Recap: Council Grove Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lyndon on Friday, Council Grove came back down to earth. The Braves lost 8-1 to the Hillsboro Trojans on Monday. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Council Grove saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Neenah Hesterman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Council Grove has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Hillsboro, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Trojans beat Council Grove by a score of 6-4 later that day.
