Basketball Recap: Sergeant Bluff-Luton Comes Up Short

Sergeant Bluff-Luton lost to Cherokee Washington back in February of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Warriors took a 74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Braves are ranked 27th).

Sergeant Bluff-Luton has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Cherokee Washington, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3.

Coming up, Sergeant Bluff-Luton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sioux City West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will be up against the Wolverines' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.42 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
