Basketball Recap: Milan Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Milan waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 38-27 win over the Brookfield Bulldogs. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 387th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Milan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mya Pauley out in front who made all 5 shots she took to post 16 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Pauley a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Marian Dabney, who posted five points along with nine boards and eight assists.

Milan's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Brookfield, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Milan will square off against Green City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brookfield, they will challenge Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
