Baseball Recap: New Albany Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lanesville last Wednesday, New Albany came back down to earth. The Bulldogs came up short against the Warsaw Tigers on Friday, falling 8-2.

New Albany saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Rand, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was Rand's first of the season.

New Albany's record is now 2-2. As for Warsaw, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Albany will head out to challenge Seymour at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 4, the Owls 1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Warsaw, they are taking a road trip to take on Bellmont at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
