Basketball Recap: Emmie Burris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Davie County over Alexander Central + How To Watch

Davie County lost against Alexander Central back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The War Eagles fell 52-47 to the Cougars. The War Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Davie County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Emmie Burris, who went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points and four steals. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Londyn McDowell, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

Alexander Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Meredith Wike out in front who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Wike is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Malayah Adams, who posted 15 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Davie County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Alexander Central, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
