Soccer Game Preview: De Pere vs. D.C. Everest

The De Pere Redbirds will take on the D.C. Everest Evergreens on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

De Pere is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Appleton North a 3-0 shutout. De Pere's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

They hit Appleton North with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Aiden Arttus, Maxim Skurka, and Brayden Franda.

Meanwhile, D.C. Everest hasn't lost a match since September 11th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They blew past Appleton West 5-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering D.C. Everest's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Appleton West are ranked 148th).

D.C. Everest is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those 11 contests. As for De Pere, their win bumped their record up to 12-3-2.

De Pere might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from D.C. Everest when the teams last played back in September. Can the Redbirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
