Preview: Lehighton Indians vs. Tamaqua Blue Raiders
Lehighton is 2-8 against Tamaqua since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lehighton Indians will look to defend their home court against the Tamaqua Blue Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Lehighton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Jim Thorpe 73-51. Given Lehighton's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Jim Thorpe is ranked 674th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Tamaqua's game on Saturday was all tied up 34-34 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pottsville. That's two games in a row now that Tamaqua has lost by exactly eight points.
Lehighton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Tamaqua, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
