Vail Mountain triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Christian Mills

Recap: Vail Mountain Gore Rangers vs. Vail Christian Saints

After losing to the Vail Christian Saints the last time they met, the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Vail Mountain snuck past Vail Christian with a 54-50 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Vail Mountain.

Christian Mills was nothing short of spectacular: he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jack Schwartz, who scored 13 points along with four steals.

Vail Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Will Neumann, who scored 15 points, and Asher Leonard who scored 14 points. Jack Pryor was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Vail Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Vail Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Vail Mountain will stay at home for another game and welcome Rangely at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. Rangely is coming into the contest with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Vail Mountain will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Vail Christian, they will square off against North Park at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully North Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Monday.
