Preview: Hammond Golden Bears vs. Century Knights
After three games on the road, Hammond is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Century Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hammond scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Marriotts Ridge for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-9 win on the road. That looming 77-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Hammond yet this season.
Hammond's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nia Green led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Green's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was close, but Century ultimately received the gift of a 33-31 win from a begrudging Knightssquad.
Hammond pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Century, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
